S: I can’t believe the CEO picked Nelson to be the office manager.
B: I know! It’s so unfair.
S: I agree. But, he’s been here a lot longer than both of us.
B: That might be true, but I don’t think his marketing proposal was very good. Yours was way better, in my opinion.
S: You really think so?
B: Yeah. After your presentation, I fully expected the boss to pick you for the position.
S: That’s nice of you to say so. I actually felt the same way about your presentation. You’ve got a talent for speaking, and your marketing idea was really clever.
B: Oh, you’re just trying to cheer me up.
S: No, I’m serious. I really thought you could get that promotion.
B: Thank you. Do you think Nelson will do a good job as manager?
S: I’m not sure. He’ll probably do fine, but it’ll be strange with him as our boss.
B: Tell me about it.
S: Hey, why don’t we go get lunch together?
B: Sounds good. We can chat more about our marketing plans.
S: You can say that again. I think the CEO might still use some of our ideas.
B: He did seem interested in some of the things we said.
