The timeless teddy bear is actually named after the 26th US president, Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt. Teddy Roosevelt loved getting out into nature. The bear part of the name “Teddy bear” comes from a hunting trip which the president went on in 1902. During this trip, the president’s fellow hunters captured a bear and tied it to a tree. They then invited him to shoot the animal. However, he refused.
