Humans have long wondered if animals dream the same way we do. Many of us have observed dogs kicking their legs or growling in their sleep. These actions suggest that dogs can imagine activities in a dream state. In fact, a few experimentshave been done to see if animals could dream in a way similar to that of humans.
__1__ French scientists noted that some animals exhibited slight movements during REM sleep. In most cases, the body is paralyzed during this period of sleep. This led scientists to wonder what would happen if an animal wasn’t paralyzed during their sleep. They then experimentedon cats by disabling a small part of their brain responsible for paralyzing the muscles during REM sleep.
