The COVID-19 pandemic has taught us that one of the best ways to prevent the spread of disease is by frequently washing our hands with soap and water. For those of us who live in developed countries, soap is easily found in stores when there’s a need to __1__. Want to take a shower? Just head to your bathroom and clean off. Good hygiene and sanitation are such basic __2__ that many of us take them for granted.

While many people may have come to enjoy convenient access to hygienic products and water where they live, access to them is __3__ in many other parts of the world. That’s where the Clean the World Foundation comes in.

Founded in 2009, Clean the World’s aim was to address global health issues by recycling soap that the hospitality industry discarded and giving it to communities in need. In 2015, Clean the World joined __4__ with the Global Soap Project to become a consolidated nonprofit under the banner of the Clean the World Foundation. The mission of this organization is to provide adequate sanitary conditions for less __5__ and often poorer groups of people. They are working towards the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals of __6__ access to water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) by 2030.
