The Oldest Dog to Ever Live
A dog in Portugal named Bobi has recently been declared the world’s oldest dog ever by Guinness World Records. Bobi was born in the year 1992, making him now 30 years old. The previous title belonged to an Australian cattle dog that was born in 1910 and lived for 29 years and five months.
Bobi is a purebred Rafeiro do Alentejo, a breed common in Portugal and used to guard property and livestock. These dogs typically have a lifespan of 12 to 14 years; however, Bobi has lived more than twice as long. Bobi’s owner attributes the dog’s longevity to his diet as well as the freedom he has to roam around the peaceful countryside where he lives.
