Enola Holmes is the younger sister of the well-known detective Sherlock Holmes. On her 16th birthday, she wakes up and discovers that her mother has disappeared. Enola’s mother raised her to be independent and think for herself. She taught Enola reading, science, and many other studies.
When her older brothers, Mycroft and Sherlock, get the news, they decide to send Enola away to a finishing school, a place that teaches young girls to be proper ladies. However, Enola refuses to accept their plan and decides to run away. She finds clues that her mother secretly left her. With the clues, Enola manages to get a great deal of money that her mother hid for her. After taking the money, she cleverly dresses up as a woman and escapes to London to search for her missing mother.
