Wishing to be healthier, more and more people are becoming vegetarian. In the USA, for example, it’s estimated that around 8% of adults are vegetarian, and in some countries, such as Germany, the figure is more than 10%. There are many benefits of being vegetarian. It can reduce the risk of heart disease and certain cancers, as well as type 2 diabetes.
It can also help the environment by reducing global warming. Though being a great source of food and income in developing countries, raising animals could worsen climate change. The less meat we eat, the greater the reduction in climate-changing emissions. When deciding whether to be a vegetarian or not, you could treat these facts as food for thought!
