I’m writing this email as a follow-up to the previous one I sent you a week ago, to which I have yet to receive a response. Frankly, I am at a loss to understand why you are now four days late on the shipment of components. In addition, the last batch you sent us two months ago contained several defective A-125-XK parts, which you promised to compensate us for. To date, though, you have neither suggested a partial refund nor offered replacements. Please give these issues your utmost priority. Otherwise, I will be forced to find a more reliable supplier.

My sincerest apologies for failing to get back to you sooner. I have been busy with orders, including dealing with yours. The reason for the delay on the latest shipment is that our machines had trouble with the specifications you provided us with. We didn’t want to repeat the problems we had with the A-125-XK parts. Speaking of that, in the shipment we will soon deliver to you, we will include the replacement parts to compensate for those faulty components. You should receive that delivery within the next day or two.

Trouble in Tech-land

    Nov. 12 (SAN FRANCISCO) ─ One of Silicon Valley’s largest smartphone makers has filed a lawsuit against one of its former suppliers. Serenity Communications Ltd. is seeking to stop Ultimate Components Co.─a Vancouver, Canada-based company─from selling a smartphone it has just brought to the market. Serenity alleges that Ultimate’s device, which it calls “The Mobilizer,” violates several of its patents.
    In addition to asking a judge to force Ultimate to cease production of its new phone, the California-based company is demanding US$100 million in compensation from its ex-supplier. In a statement, Serenity Communications’ CEO Jeff Barker accused Ultimate Components of deliberately deceiving the company, repeatedly delaying shipments, and sending them defective parts. “I suspect these mistakes were purposefully made with the intent to interfere with our efforts to promote our smartphone and prevent us from increasing our global market share,” Barker said. A spokesman for Ultimate Components declined to comment on the matter.
