1. have no choice but to V　　除了……之外別無選擇

= have no alternative but to V
= have no option but to V
例 : You have no choice but rewrite the report. (×)
→ You have no choice but to rewrite the report. (○)
（你除了重寫報告外別無選擇。）
The economy is so bad that we have no option but to cut down on our spending. (○)
（經濟那麼糟，因此我們除了減少花費外別無他途。） 

2. 表示『意願』、『企圖』等動詞，之後均以 to 引導的不定詞作『受詞』，常用的此類動詞如下：

agree（同意）、choose（選擇）、decide（決定）、expect（期望）、hesitate（猶豫）、
hope（希望）、intend（有意）、manage（設法）、need（需要）、plan（計劃）、pretend
（假裝）、promise（承諾）、tend（易於）、try（設法）、want（想要）、wish（希望）、
would like（想要）、yearn（= long，渴望）

例 : I was happy to learn that Mary agreed to go picnicking with us this weekend.
（獲知瑪麗同意在這個週末跟我們一塊去野餐時，我很高興。）
I've chosen to study abroad upon graduating from college.
（我已選擇大學一畢業便出國深造。）
I thought we couldn't meet the deadline, but fortunately we managed to finish the
report right on time.
（我原以為我們無法趕上最後期限，但所幸我們仍設法準時完成了報告。）
Are you planning to take a trip to Bangkok this summer?
（你今年夏天計劃要到曼谷去玩嗎？）
George pretends to be rich even though he lives from hand to mouth.
（喬治縱使生活勉強糊口，卻裝作有錢人。）
I don't trust David because he tends to lie.
（大衛動不動就說謊，因此我不信任他。）
I yearn / long to have a chance to talk with Mr. Wilson.
（我渴望有機會跟魏爾遜先生談談話。）
