You just found your seat and are getting comfortable: taking out your neck pillow, plugging your earphones into the in-flight entertainment screen, and scrolling through the movie selection. You’re messaging your friends, telling them how excited you are about your trip to Thailand when the flight attendant asks everyone to switch their phones to airplane mode. You do as she says and take one last look at social media for the next few hours.
What would happen if you were to disregard her instructions? The answer is simple: the plane would... crash! Just kidding. There are a couple of reasons why we turn on airplane mode, but let’s start off with what may happen if we don’t use it.
