　Taiwan is filled with tea shops that offer bubble tea and other tasty drinks. In the hot days of summer, nothing cools you down like a dessert drink that is made with Aiyu jelly. It’s slimier▼ than other jellies and has a very pleasant and tender taste. 

　　臺灣充斥著各種販售珍奶及其他可口飲品的飲料店。炎炎夏日，沒有什麼能像以愛玉凍製成的甜飲一般能讓你透心涼。愛玉凍比其他果凍類還要黏滑，而且有著一種滑嫩宜人的口感。

　Aiyu jelly is made with the seeds from a type of fig▼ plant that grows high up in the Alishan mountain range▼. To prepare Aiyu jelly, the seeds are removed from the fig and placed inside of a cotton bag. The bag is then soaked in cold water and rubbed until a yellow gel▼ comes out of the seeds. When this process is complete, the yellow gel is collected and placed inside a refrigerator to cool down. After a few hours, the gel gets firm and the Aiyu jelly is ready to eat. 

　　愛玉凍是由某種無花果樹的種子所製成，這種植物生長在阿里山山脈高處。要製作愛玉凍得先拿出無花果的種子，並把它們放在棉布袋裡。接著將棉布袋浸泡在冷水裡，搓揉它直至黃色膠質從種子冒出。這道工序完成後，就把黃色膠質蒐集起來放置在冰箱裡冷卻。數小時後，膠質會凝固，而愛玉凍即可食用。

　On its own, Aiyu jelly doesn’t taste like much. So, other ingredients are added for flavor. Usually, it is mixed with honey and lemon juice to give it a sweet and sour taste. Aiyu jelly can also be put on top of shaved ice to add a chewy▼ texture▼.

　　愛玉凍本身並沒有什麼味道。也因此要添加其他材料來增添風味。愛玉凍通常會跟蜂蜜及檸檬原汁混合食用，讓它帶有酸酸甜甜的風味。愛玉凍也能拿來放在剉冰上頭來增添咀嚼口感。
