Nancy Springer is a well-liked writer who has capturedthe imagination of young readers with her exciting stories. Springer was born in New Jersey, USA. She preferred reading books to watching TV when she was a child.
Springer also spent hours observing wild animals in the forest near her home. She was treated badly in school, so she turned to Mother Nature to seek comfort. After graduating from Gettysburg College, she got married and planned to be a housewife. However, her passion for writing led her to publish her first fantasy novel in 1977. Since then, she has continued writing many types of books, including science fiction and mystery.
