今天要來學一個很好用的字首re-（再；返回）：

把 re（再）放在 do（做）前面變成 redo 就是「重做；再做」。

Cindy has to redo this paper because there are too many errors.
（這份文件因為錯誤百出，辛蒂必須重寫。）

A: I want to redo this poster, but John and Mary think it's good enough as it is.
B: I'm on your side. It needs to be done over.
甲：我想重做這海報，但約翰與瑪麗卻認為這樣已經夠好了。
乙：我支持你。它是需要重做。

 

把 re（返回）放在 cycle（循環）前面變成 recycle就是「重新使用；回收利用」。

• We need to recycle our trash and use public transportation more often.
  （我們必須將垃圾回收利用，並多使用大眾運輸工具。）

• Many daily commodities such as empty bottles and cans can be recycled.
  （許多日用品如空瓶罐等均可回收利用。）

• Always remember to sort your trash properly to make recycling easier.
  （記得垃圾勤分類，以利回收。）

 

把 re（再）放在 structure（架構）前面變成 restructure 就是「重新組織；改組」。

 

不過，並不是每個以 re- 開頭的單字都是可以拆解的，例如 repeat（重覆）、report（報告）、resign（辭職）這幾個字是不可以拆解的。
