冷爆啦~這次又冷到合歡山都下「冰霰ㄒㄧㄢˋ」了~
近幾年在台灣好像都可以看到固態降水(Types of Solid Precipitation)，我們最熟悉的應該就是雪啦~
堆雪球、堆雪人是每次下雪最喜歡做的事情
但跟外編聊起下雪，他們可不這麼喜歡哩~
因為這讓他們想起在美國每次下雪就要剷雪，外出變得很麻煩又超冷
他們還是喜歡溫暖的台灣(｡◕∀◕｡)
今天來一起學一下不同型態的固態降水，好想親眼看看呢~
snow 雪 (最冷)
Dennis shivered with cold while standing in the snow.
丹尼斯在雪中站著時冷得發抖。
*snow為可數名詞，下了一場雪這樣說"a single fall of snow"
We haven't had many heavy snows this winter.
今年冬天我們這裡沒下過幾場大雪。
電影情節常出現的被雪困住這樣說" be snowed in"
We were snowed in for four days last winter.
去年冬天，我們被雪困了四天。
hail 冰雹 (大顆的冰塊，打在身上會痛><)
Hail is a chunk of precipitation totally made of ice and falling from a thunderstorm. Hail can become much larger than graupel.
冰雹是一塊完全由冰組成的降水，從雷暴中落下。冰雹可能比霰彈大得多。
graupel / snow pellets (soft hail) 冰霰 (相較冰雹是軟的)
Graupel looks like tiny snowballs, and is different from hail and sleet. Graupel forms when falling snowflakes collide with raindrops.
Graupel看起來像小雪球，與冰雹和雨夾雪不同。當飄落的雪花與雨滴碰撞時，就會形成霰。
The small, soft pellets of hail are sometimes called graupel by professionals.
冰雹形成的小而軟的顆粒有時被專業人員稱為霰。
sleet 雨夾雪
Sleet can also be called ice pellets. Sleet is a raindrop that entirely freezes as the raindrop falls to the ground.
雨夾雪也可以稱為冰粒。雨夾雪是一種雨滴，當雨滴落到地上前會完全凍結。雨夾雪落地時會彈得很高。雨夾雪看起來像一個迷你冰塊。
Driving snow and sleet brought more problems to the county's roads last night.
昨晚的雨夾雪很大，郡裡的交通更成問題了。
