最近台灣嚴重交通事故頻傳，5/19新北市三峽北大國小旁發生嚴重車禍，造成兩名學生與一名家長不幸身亡。沒想到事隔不久，又傳出另一名78歲高齡駕駛暴衝肇事，導致八人受傷。而上個月（21日）又發生一起死亡車禍，一名77旬老翁駕駛吊車，直接衝撞正在等紅燈的三臺機車，釀成一名18歲女騎士當場身亡，另有兩人受傷。交通意外是我們日常都會遇到的問題，但這些跟交通意外相關的英文詞彙該怎麼說呢？今天就一起學習常見跟交通有關的詞彙吧~
- Traffic accident（交通事故）
e.g., A traffic accident happened near the school this evening.
（今天傍晚學校附近發生了一起交通事故。）
- Car accident（車禍）
e.g., The young woman was injured in a car accident.
（這名年輕女子在車禍中受了傷。）
*注意：這裡用的是 accident 而不是 incident，因為 accident 通常指「意外發生」的事件，而 incident 則可泛指任何事件（不一定是突發或嚴重的）。
- be/get injured（v.）受傷
e.g., She was seriously injured in the crash.
（她在車禍中嚴重受傷。） - injury（n.）傷勢
e.g., He suffered a head injury after the collision.
（他在撞擊後頭部受傷。） - wound（n.）傷口、創傷；通常指外傷如刀傷或撞擊傷
e.g., The cyclist had deep wounds on both legs.
（那位騎士雙腿都有嚴重傷口。） - hurt（v.）傷害、疼痛；語氣較口語

- minor injury（輕傷）

- collision（撞擊、相撞）

- pedestrian（行人）
