The White Desert of Egypt offers a unique experience for travelers.
The country of Egypt in northeastern Africa is famous as a tourist spot. The ancientpyramids are its most famous attraction , but not the only one. The White Desert, located about 370 km southwest of Cairo, has recently been gaining popularitywith adventure travelers.
The desert gets its name from the large white rocks and white sand drifts that have been formed by many years of erosion and weathering. Like many parts of the Earth, this area was once underwater. In different parts of the desert, the white rocks and sand might be made up of calcium, quartz, or limestone. In some areas, there are large sculpturesof chalky white rock, and the environment isoften compared to the surface of the moon.
