Can the beast be stopped?
The novel The Beast and the Bethany centers around a man named Ebenezer Tweezer. He has lived for 511 years thanks to special potions he receives every year from the beast that lives in his house. The beast magically brings forth anything Ebenezer desires, and in return, Ebenezer feeds the beast whatever it wants to eat. Over the years, Ebenezer has fed the beast a variety of items, including animals, plants, and even statues. As long as the beast gives him the potion to stay young, he is willing to give the beast anything.
