The Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (MOCAA) in Cape Town, South Africa, certainly stands out among amazing adaptive reuse projects. Once a historic grain silo complex in Cape Town, the site has been converted into an art museum, with the silo’s appearance deliberately maintained. The museum’s design keeps the original arrangement of 42 hollow concrete silo tubes, which were creatively carved to provide space for 80 gallery rooms. Zeitz MOCAA has helped Cape Town reclaim an important part of its industrial past.
