  For individuals whose understanding of raccoons comes primarily from cartoons, movies, or illustrated children’s books, it’s easy to get the wrong impression of these creatures. After all, with black patches around their eyes that resemble bandit masks, ringed tails, and cat-like whiskers, raccoons seem rather cute or even comical. These animals almost call out to be hugged just like teddy bears, which always invite affection and cuddles. Yet, that is the last thing you should do with a wild raccoon. In fact, you don’t even want these uninvited guests hanging around your neighborhood.
