某些詞語看起來差別很小，例如多了一個 s，或少了一個空格，但用法卻大相逕庭。今天小編要跟大家分享的就是這類詞語，希望大家在準備考試時能多留意喔！

some time、sometimes 和 sometime 會不會太像了!
你是不是也覺得好難記～今天就讓學一下，這幾個單字有什麼不同吧！

 

sometimes (adv.) 有時候（表示頻率）

sometimes 是頻率副詞，表示「有時候」，應該是比較常接觸、容易記憶的單字！

• I call on my grandparents in the country sometimes.
  = I visit my grandparents in the country sometimes.
  = I visit my grandparents in the country occasionally.
  我有時會去鄉下探望我的祖父母。

 

some time (n.) 一段時間

some 是「一些」，time 當成不可數名詞時最常見的意思是「時間」。合起來的意思就是「一段時間」，常與介詞 for 並用：

• Henry had lived in Hong Kong for some time before moving here.
  亨利搬來這裡前曾在香港住了一段時間。

sometime (adv.) 某時；不知何時

說到 sometime 時通常會提到過去或未來的某個時間段，表示在那個時間段裡的「某個不確定時刻」，須與明確的過去或未來的時間並用：

• I will be here sometime this afternoon. 
  我今天下午某個時候會在這。
• I saw Tom sometime last week. 
  我上星期不知何時曾看到阿湯哥。
• I saw John sometime yesterday morning.
  我昨天上午的某個時候看到約翰。

 

補充：some times (n.) 幾次（罕用）

time 當成可數名詞的時候，意思是「次數」。所以 some times 意思就是「幾次」囉！只是外國人不這麼用，都說 several times 或 a few times 比較多。

• I've been to Japan several times.
• 我曾經去過日本幾次。
• I have been to Kyoto a few times, and I'm planning to visit the ancient city again sometime this summer.
  我曾經去過京都幾次，我計劃於今年夏天某個時候再次造訪這座古都。

有空格 → 複合名詞	字尾 time 有 s， 表次數	some times 幾次（罕用）
	字尾 time 沒有 s， 表時間	some time 一段時間
沒有空格 → 副詞	字尾有 s， 表很多次（頻率）	sometimes 有時候
