A Legendary Manga Artist Dies at 88 傳奇漫畫家藤子不二雄 A 享壽八十八歲
Manga artist Motoo Abiko, or more commonly known by his pen name as Fujiko A. Fujio, passed away in early April at his home in Kawasaki, Japan. He was part of a two-man manga team, which he formed with his childhood friend Hiroshi Fujimoto. Known as Fujiko F. Fujio, Hiroshi Fujimoto was the creator of one of Japan’s most loved characters—Doraemon. Unfortunately, he died of liver failure in 1996.
The two friends worked together under the name Fujiko Fujio. They were responsible for creating many iconic manga series, some of which have been adapted into anime and are still beloved today. Some of Fujiko A. Fujio’s notable works are Ninja Hattori-kun , The Laughing Salesman , and The Monster Kid.
