一場有成效的會議是要能達到具體結果的會議。通常，那會以某種決策的形式呈現。然而，許多會議的毛病在於結果不明確，原因就是負責人並未意識到採取行動的必要性。發生這種情況時，可以理解的是，大家會覺得一事無成。以下有一些實用的表達方式，能幫助你圓滿結束會議。
Making Decisions 做決定
Formal（正式)
Ex: I believe the time has come to make a decision on this matter.
(我認為該是為此事做決定的時候了。)
Ex: Should we put the decision to a vote? Is everyone ready?
(我們是否該將此決定付諸表決？大家準備好了嗎？)
Ex: Is there a consensus on the issue? Does everyone agree?
(在這個議題上大夥兒有共識了嗎？大家都同意嗎？)
Ex: Is everyone in agreement on / about this matter?
(針對此事大家意見都一致嗎？)
Closing the Meeting 結束會議
Formal（正式)
Ex: That concludes all the business we had to attend to today.
(那總結了我們今天要處理的所有事務。)
Ex: It's now 5:45; it's time to adjourn the meeting.
(現在是5點45分；該是結束會議的時候了。)
Ex: It looks like that was the last piece of business for the meeting.
(看來那是本次會議的最後一件事了。)
Ex: There are no more items on the agenda; meeting adjourned.
(議程上沒有其他議題了；會議結束。)
Ex: Well, that brings us to the end of the meeting today.
(那麼，我們的會議到此結束。)
