War Breaks Out between Hamas and Israel
Hamas, a Palestinian Islamist group, carried out a major terrorist attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. The attack included gunmen crossing into Israel and a lot of rockets fired from the Gaza Strip. There were many deaths and hostage situations. Israel blamed Hamas for starting a war, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised to fight back. In response to the attack, Israel launched air strikes and ground operations in Gaza, where many people were killed and wounded.
The Israel-Hamas war has brought about international concerns. The United Nations and some neighboring countries have called for a ceasefire, while other countries have asked for humanitarian pauses. Israel, vowing to wipe out Hamas, has rejected these requests and stated that they are prepared for a long and difficult war.
