 A  So, how’s your relationship with your girlfriend these days?
 B  It’s tough. As you know, Shelley and I are in a long-distance relationship.
 A  Yeah, I bet it’s hard. London’s not exactly close to LA!
 B  We talk on the phone a lot. Hardly do we ever see each other in person, though.
 A  Maybe it’s time for you to visit England again.
 B  I’d like to, but the flight tickets cost an arm and a leg. I don’t have enough money now.
 A  Can Shelley not come over here?
 B  She’s snowed under with coursework for her MBA. Hardly does she have the time to grab a coffee, never mind fly eleven hours to come and see me.
 A  Then there’s the time difference, I guess.
 B  Well, yeah, that doesn’t help. Still, there’s only another six months to go and we’ll be back together.
 A  That’s the spirit!

 

 A  你最近和女友的關係還好嗎？
 B  很難熬。如妳知道的，雪麗跟我現在是遠距離戀愛。
 A  是呀，我敢肯定一定不容易。倫敦跟洛杉磯的距離根本不近！
 B  我們很常講電話。但是，我們幾乎無法親自見到對方。
 A  或許是時候你再去一趟英國了。
 B  我也想，但是機票貴得要命。我現在沒有足夠的錢。
 A  雪麗沒辦法來這裡嗎？
 B  她正為企業管理碩士的課業忙得不可開交。她幾乎連買杯咖啡的時間都沒有，更別說要坐十一個小時的飛機過來看我了。
 A  而且，我想還有時差。
 B  嗯，是的，那更是幫倒忙。儘管如此，只要再過六個月，我們就可以團聚了。
 A  這樣想就對了！
