This issue contributes significantly to the global food crisis, with __1__ one-third of the food produced for the world being wasted and millions of people in dozens of countries facing severe hunger each year. However, a groundbreaking invention called Mimica Touch aims to help __2__ this crisis by providing a more accurate method of evaluating the safety of food purchased.

__3__ of a label that transforms in texture when food spoils, Mimica Touch features a plastic sheet with ridges inside a covering that indicate spoilt food. The plastic bumps are covered with a thin layer of gelatin that decays at the same rate as the food. When the gelatin turns from a solid state to a liquid state, the label transforms from firm and smooth to soft and bumpy, indicating that the food has gone bad.
