Everyone wants some souvenirs.
If you’ve ever been on a trip, you probably have some. They’re small, usually not very expensive, and not too heavy. They’re something you take or buy from a place so that you can remember your time there. We call these things souvenirs, from the French word souvenir , which means “to remember.” In some cultures, the custom isn’t to bring a gift home for yourself, but for others. For the Japanese,a trip means buying omiyage (souvenirs) to give to your friends and colleagues. People in the Philippines have a similar tradition called pasalubong.
