When someone is suffering from lack of sleep or depression, it can be hard to get out of bed. However, spending too much time in bed can make these problems worse. It may be difficult, but it’s helpful to set goals for yourself to help you leave the bedroom.
One easy goal is simply to eat something. A good meal can provide strong motivation to get out of bed. If that seems too difficult, then start smaller. Going to the kitchen for a glass of water can be a great start. You can also try opening curtains or windows to let some light or fresh air into your room. Some simple stretches, even while you are still in bed, can get your blood flowing and put you in a better mood to face the day.
