According to tradition, a special ceremony is held at Dazaifu Tenmangu every 25 years. The next ceremony is planned for the year 2027. In preparation for the important event, the main hall of the Dazaifu Tenmangu has been closed to the public and under repair since May 2023. This is the first time in 124 years that a major renovation has taken place. The work is expected to take three years to complete.
