A lot of people enjoy eating popcorn and sipping on soft drinks in the movie theater. As far as I am concerned, this behavior causes nothing but annoyance. For one thing, the garbage and discarded food or spilled drinks leave a mess to be cleaned up. For another, the sounds of crackling packets, rustling wrappers, crunching food, and slurping drinks are all very distracting. What makes it even more unbearable is the overpowering smell of certain foods. I simply want to enjoy the movie, and that is why I think food should be banned in the theater.
I remember one time I was at a movie theater in my neighborhood. As I walked toward my seat, I was disgusted by the sticky floor in my row, and there was a wet patch on my seat! My mood was already ruined, and little did I know things would only get worse. The viewers sitting next to me started eating braised chicken wings right after the movie began.
