行遍天下

In addition to visiting the Grand Egyptian Museum, there’s plenty to do in Cairo and around Giza. So anyone that has the chance to travel to the region can enjoy the museum as well as other wonderful sites where they can appreciate the history and culture of ancient Egypt.
First and most obviously, the Great Pyramids of Giza are a must-see. Surprisingly, these gigantic and celebrated landmarks are only a few kilometers outside of Cairo and tour buses to them run regularly for tourists.
Inside the city limits, both visitors and locals like to visit the Khan el-Khalili. This famous market is the home of many famous artisans and workshops. It has been in continuous operation since the 10th century and continues to draw crowds and drive commerce today.
A much newer space—but still very beautiful in a traditional way—is the Al-Azhar Park in an ancient part of Cairo. The park itself was built in May 2005, but its construction uses traditional Islamic architecture to blend in with the surrounding Medieval▼ District. The large park is even home to some ancient ruins that have been restored for modern Egyptians to enjoy.
