Dialogue B
B: Bernard S: Sarah
Several days later, Bernard meets Sarah before lunch.
B: Hi, Sarah. Here’s that money I owe you for lunch last week and the time before.
S: Thanks, Bernard. Did you ever get the chance to meet with Thomas?
B: Oh, yes. I met with him this morning and paid him the money I owed for the dinner party.
S: It’s good you took care of that.
B: I agree. I really don’t like to be in debt.
S: True. It’s always best to pay what you owe as soon as you can. So, do you have plans for lunch today?
B: I think I will just have some instant noodles or something.
S: Really? Are you short on money again? You know you can wait to pay me back if you need the money.
B: No, it’s not that. We just got our paychecks, but I feel like I should be more careful with my money this month. I don’t want to be known as a moocher after all.
S: I can understand the need to save money. But you know that I don’t mind lending you some money if you need it.
B: Thanks. You’re very generous, but I still want to watch my expenses this month.
