And, depending on which one it is, it “beckons” for different kinds of blessings. Maneki-neko are available in different colors, and they’re each associated with a specific purpose. The original version of the beckoning cat is white, which is for bringing good luck and general good fortune. A black one is for keeping evil spirits away, red is for maintaining good health, gold is for attracting wealth, and pink is to help find romance.
