Toad, the central character of Counselling for Toads: A Psychological Adventure, has not been as cheerful as usual for a while. He has lost interest in his usual hobbies and stopped having fun. He barely eats and has lost a lot of weight. Moreover, he has given up caring about his appearance, so his clothes look shabby and smell terrible.
Toad should be happy because he is rich and has a big house. His good friends, Rat, Mole, and Badger, have tried everything to restore his enthusiasm and humor. As a last resort, they advise Toad to seek help from a counselor named Heron.
