A story of facing the fear of being different

　　Dusti Bowling’s first novel, Insignificant Events in the Life of a Cactus, was published in 2017. The novel tells the story of a 13-year-old girl named Aven. Her adoptive parents have decided to move from Kansas to Arizona for a new job. Moving to a new place is never easy, especially for young people who have to part with their friends and make new ones. However, what makes Aven’s story special is that she was born without arms.
