Taiwan to Ban Polystyrene Cups from July 2022
Taiwan is continuing to make efforts to reduce the use of single-use utensils and containers in its food industry. In December 2021, Taiwan’s Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) announced that polystyrene cups will be banned from store shelves and restaurants starting in July 2022. In addition to polystyrene cups, the EPA is also asking local governments to expand the ban to other types of single-use cups, such as those made of plastic.
