短文聽讀 Text

         Manny’s father is a mechanic. Manny likes to go to the garage when his father is working there. Like father, like son, he enjoys playing with machines and tools. If his father picks up a wrench, so does Manny. If his father checks a tire, so does Manny. He has learned a lot from his father. This is also how Manny’ s father learned to be a mechanic: from his own father.

       One day, Manny’ s bike broke down while he was cycling by the river. Instead of calling his father, he studied what was wrong with the bike and successfully fixed it himself. He was very proud of himself, and so was his father when he came home. Even prouder was Manny’s grandfather, who was delighted to see his trade being passed down to the next generation.

        They decided to form a partnership and set up Delgado & Sons Garage to serve the needs of the local community. The residents of the town loved seeing all three Delgado men working hard on their cars. The business was immensely popular, and also profitable.

 

         曼尼的爸爸是個技師。當他爸爸在汽車修理廠工作時，曼尼也喜歡去那裡。有其父必有其子，他也喜歡玩機器和工具。如果他爸爸拿一個扳手，曼尼也會拿。如果他爸爸在檢查輪胎，曼尼也會照做。他向他爸爸學習了很多。這也是曼尼的爸爸怎麼學會做一個技師的：從他自己的爸爸身上學習。

         有一天，曼尼在河邊騎自行車時，他的自行車壞了。他沒有打電話給他爸爸，反而是自己研究自行車的問題，並成功地靠著自己修好了自行車。他十分自豪，當他回家後，他爸爸也感到非常驕傲。曼尼的爺爺更是引以為傲，他很樂見他的事業可以被傳承到下一代。

          他們決定要合夥並成立德爾加多父子汽車修理廠，為在地街坊提供服務。鎮裡的居民也喜歡看到德爾加多家的三位男士很努力地修車。這家公司很受歡迎也有不錯的營收。
