實用會話 Dialogue

 A  Do you want to study English together this afternoon?
 B  OK. Where do you want to go?
 A  To the library. It’s a good place to study because it’s quiet.
 B  But we can’t talk in the library. We might need to discuss things, so let’s find another place to study.
 A  How about the cafeteria?
 B  No way! It’s always so noisy there.
 

 A  今天下午你想要來一起讀英文嗎？
 B  好。你想要去哪裡讀呢？
 A  去圖書館。圖書館很安靜，所以是個讀書的好地方。​​​​​​​
 B  可是我們不能在圖書館裡講話。我們可能需要討論一些事情，所以我們找別的地方讀書吧。
 A  去自助餐廳好不好？​​​​​​​
 B  不行！那裡總是很吵雜。

     discuss 是及物動詞，故不可說：
     discuss about the problem （×）
→ discuss the problem （○）
     The professor discussed the case with us.
     那位教授和我們討論這個案例。

 5  cafeteria         n. 自助餐廳

 6  noisy         a. 吵鬧的
     The room was crowded and noisy.
     房間又擠又吵。

 拒絕他人的說法 

要拒絕他人的請求除了用 “No.” 之外，也可使用下列句子以加強語氣表示強烈拒絕：

No way!                                      不行！
Impossible!                                 不可能！
That’ s out of the question!         沒得討論！
I’m not doing that!                       我不要！
Over my dead body!                    死都別想！
Not on your life!                           休想！
