魷魚遊戲名稱的由來
《魷魚遊戲》（Squid Game）影集名稱來自韓國 70、80 年代非常流行的兒童遊戲「오징어게임」（直譯就是魷魚遊戲）。這個遊戲因為畫出的地板形狀像魷魚而得名。在這款遊戲中，進攻方需要想辦法進入「魷魚頭部」的區域，而防守方則要阻止他們，常常會推推擠擠，非常激烈！很多韓國觀眾看這部劇時都覺得很懷舊，這些兒時遊戲激發了他們的童年回憶！
456 號的含義
劇中的主角成奇勳是 456 號，這個數字不是隨便挑的。韓國和我們一樣，常常把數字「4」和死亡聯繫在一起（因為發音接近「死」），而 456 的數字順序暗示了他作為參賽者最後一位的命運，但同時也象徵他從最底層努力到最後的毅力。許多韓國人對數字「4」很忌諱，有的人甚至會電梯中把「4樓」標記為「F 樓」，就像西方文化中的13號一樣避諱。
123 木頭人
「123木頭人」（英文以遊戲規則翻譯成 Red Light, Green Light）在韓國叫「무궁화 꽃이 피었습니다」（直譯：木槿花開了），木槿花是韓國的國花，這個遊戲在韓國非常有代表性。
