New York City is known as the capital of the world, but soon it might be known for something else—sinking. With more than a million buildings, NYC is a very heavy place. The water levels in and around New York due to climate change are rising twice as fast as the global rate, so this means that by 2050, the water could be nearly a meter higher than it is now. Add these two factors together and the Big Apple may be drowning in only a few years.
