In the past 50 years or so, women in many parts of the world have made a lot of progress when it comes to equal treatment with men in areas such as employment, business, and entertainment. However, one woman in the UK claims that she still had to __1__ to get her music played on the British Broadcasting Corporation, or BBC.
Pianist Annabel Bennett has been composing musical pieces and submitting them to the BBC since 2012. She claims that not one of the 350 original pieces she created under her name was accepted. __2__ rejection, she then decided to submit music using a male pseudonym—Arthur Parker. Lo and behold, several of her pieces were accepted and aired soon afterwards. Since then, over 40 of her original tunes have been featured on both local and national radio shows, all of __3__ were credited toArthur Parker.
