Although avoiding shopping is the main point of Buy Nothing Day, other creative forms of protestare sometimes used. One activity that drawsa lot of attention is the credit card cut-up. People will gather at shopping centers with their credit cards in one hand and a pair of scissorsin the other. Then, they will cuttheir cards into pieces. Another activity called the zombiewalk is to show the way most people shop. In this walk, participantswalk around shopping malls like zombies. If anyone asks them what’s happening, they will educatethem about Buy Nothing Day.
