How one man went from millimeters to mountains
In April 2022, Ed Jackson, a former English rugby player, and his team were trying to climb 7,126-meter Himlung Himal in the Himalayas. Because of COVID-19, nobody had climbed the mountain in two and a half years. Therefore, he and his team had to set up new camps and ropes along the way. ❶
As Jackson and his team reached 6,800 meters, they had no choice but to turn back due to difficult conditions. They quickly found themselves stuck on the side of a mountain. One of their guides had fallen into a deep crack, and they weren’t going to leave without him. The temperature was minus 30°C, and they had no food, water, or tents. A rescue helicopter couldn’t aid them until the following morning. Throughout the night, they tried their hardest to survive.
