Ed Jackson’s life-changinginjury happened five years earlier. On that fatefulday, he doveinto a swimming pool without realizing how shallowit was. He ended up hitting his head on the bottom of the pool. On the way to the hospital, he actually died and came back to life three times.
As he lay in the hospital bed, he couldn’t move his body from the neck down. He didn’t give up hope, though. After a few weeks, he was able to move his big toe a few millimeters, and that made him even more determined. A few months later, he could sit in a wheelchair, and by six months, he was starting to walk—a surprisingly fast recovery.
