Keukenhof is a spring garden and is only open for eight weeks each year, usually between mid-March and mid-May. The best time to see the flowers depends on the growing season for that year. Gardeners plant around seven million bulbs from October to early December of each year to make sure flowers are blooming throughout the park’s opening period. The main attraction for visitors is the annual tulip festival held each spring.
The flowers in the park bloom in three stages. During the first stage, early flowers like daffodils and crocuses are on display. In the second stage, flowers
such as hyacinths take center stage. During the final stage, larger tulips are in full bloom throughout the garden. There are also indoor flower displays that feature tulips and other beautiful flowers for visitors to view on rainy days.
