Many people enjoy spending time outdoors, but not everyone knows the difference between hiking and trekking. Although both activities include walking in nature, they are not exactly the same. Hiking is usually a shorter trip that follows marked trails and can often be finished in a single day. Therefore, hikers only need to prepare a few basic items, like a pair of comfortable shoes, some water, and a small backpack.
