despite ,in spite of, though, although 都有表「雖然」之意，用法差別如下:

介紹 despite、in spite of 表「儘管、雖然」的用法
※ despite [dɪˋspaɪt] 表「儘管∕雖然……」之意，其為介詞，後接名詞或動名詞作受詞，形成介詞片語，作副詞用，修飾主要子句。此介詞片語可置於主要子句之前或之後，置於之前時需用逗點與主要子句隔開。
• Despite the rain, the baseball game was not suspended.
雖然下雨了，但那場棒球賽並沒有中止。
• Isaac still feels hungry despite having had a large breakfast.
艾薩克還是會覺得餓，儘管他早餐吃了很多。
※ in spite of 是片語介詞，亦表「儘管∕雖然……」，可與 despite 互換使用。
• In spite of her leg injury, the runner didn’t drop out of the marathon.
儘管腿受傷，那名跑者並沒有中途退出馬拉松比賽。
※ despite 及 in spite of 之後不可直接接 that 子句作受詞，而須先在其後加 the fact 作其受詞，再接 that 子句，此 that 子句為其前 the fact 的同位語。

= S + V + despite / in spite of the fact + that 子句

= S + V + despite / in spite of the fact + that 子句
• Despite the fact that Ned told his daughter to come home early, she didn’t arrive home until midnight.
儘管奈德叫他女兒早點回家，但她還是直到午夜才到家。
※ though / although 亦表「雖然」之意，其為副詞連接詞，因此後面要接子句，即等於 “despite / in spite of the fact + that 子句”。
• Although Sammy felt tired after work, she still went to the gym to work out.
雖然珊米下班後很累，但她還是去了健身房運動。
