1 表達賺取金錢、創造財富：
make a living 謀生、維持生計
make money 賺錢
make a fortune 發財、賺大錢
- He works hard every day to make a living for his family. (他每天都很努力地工作，為家人謀生。)
- John started his own business to make money and become financially independent. (約翰開始自己的事業，賺錢並獲得財務上的獨立。)
- With his new invention, he made a fortune and became a millionaire overnight. (憑藉他的新發明，他一夜之間發了財，成為了百萬富翁。)
2 表達創造、編造：
make up a story 捏造故事
make excuses 找藉口
make a wish 許願
make a will 立遺囑
make history 創造歷史
- She made up a story to explain why she was late. (她捏造了一個故事來解釋她為什麼遲到了。)
- Stop making excuses and take responsibility for your actions. (別再找藉口了，要對自己的行為負責。)
- Blow out the candles and make a wish. (吹熄蠟燭，許個願吧。)
- My father made a will before he passed away, and it made the probate process much easier for my family. (我父親在去世前立了遺囑，這使得遺產分配的過程對我們家庭來說更加容易。)

- The store manager made an inventory of the products in the warehouse.（店長對倉庫裡的產品進行了盤點。）
- The construction site is making a lot of noise, it's hard to concentrate. (建築工地發出很多噪音，很難集中精力。)

4 表達做出判斷或選擇：
make a selection 做出選擇
make an assessment 評估、做出結論
make an inference 推論、做出結論
- She spent hours making a selection of books to read on her vacation.（她花了幾個小時挑選要在假期閱讀的書。）
- The doctor made an assessment of the patient's condition.（醫生對病人的狀況做出了評估。）
- Based on the footprints, the detective made an inference about the suspect.（根據腳印，偵探對嫌疑犯做出了推論。）
「make an assessment of」意指「評估、評價、做出結論」，通常是基於事實、資料、經驗等客觀的因素，做出有根據的判斷。而「make an inference」則是指「推斷、推論、做出結論」，通常是基於已知的一些事實或線索，對未知的事情作出一個假設或猜測。
