Collins Dictionary selected “AI,” short for artificial intelligence, as its word of the year for 2023. With the public release of ChatGPT and the widespread use of AI-generated artwork online, it was a big year for AI. This year offered the public more opportunity to access and interact with AI technologies.
In entertainment, AI was part of the reason why many writers and actors decided to go on strike in Hollywood. With everything from AI-generated videos to news articles and even popular music, 2023
marked the year that AI really began to creep into our daily lives. For many people, AI has become a regular topic of conversation and an important tool for work, and it will continue to be a big part of many people’s lives in the years to come.
