Then, as communities changed and people moved from the country to the city, nightclubs and coffeehouses became common places for young people to meet each other. Now it’s the 21st century, and people have a new way to find love: websites and apps.

 　　Online dating has been around since the beginning of the internet, but it really took off around 2010, when smartphones became common. Now, online dating is so common that it is almost hard to find someone who hasn’t tried dating apps.

 　　Today, dating apps provide a quick, convenient way to find potential dates whether you have specific interests or no requirements. However, many people worry about the safety of meeting people online. Others believe that we are losing important social skills by not meeting new friends or partners in person. Many dating app users agree, with more than 50% of them viewing dating apps somewhat negatively.
