B Not good, Mom. I asked to play in the game for seniors.
A But you’re only 15 years old.
B I know. But I’m the best player on the freshman team, so I thought I would be OK.
A What happened?
B No sooner had I started playing than I knew I had made a mistake. I was too young and too small. I was no match for those older boys. I felt like a fish out of water.
A You should stick to the freshman team and take things step by step.
B I’ve learned my lesson, Mom. How was your day?
A I went grocery shopping, but I forgot my purse. No sooner had I arrived at the supermarket than I realized I couldn’t pay for anything!
B So neither of us has had a successful day, then!
